CAST BRONZE, COLD ENAMEL. Ø 14 CM

In October 2013 I spent nineteen days in China at the invitation of  AoTu company, which got interested in my medals, visiting five big cities from Peking to Guangzhou with my personal exhibitions. After the visit my Chinese friends asked me to create a series of bronze medals "My China", wherein I would reflect my most bright and striking impressions from what I saw.

 Since my early childhood I was looking at two ceramic figures at home: an ascetic,  austere Buddhist monk and a good natured fat Taoist, which were brought from China long ago by my grandfather – a deep sea captain. During my own trip I found new friends for them: a nice kind auntie with a strange animal in her hands and one more round beaded Taoist. You can see this company all together on this medal.
